On June 19, 2018, the GreenON rebates program ended.
That means a number of residential programs providing homeowners rebates for energy efficient upgrades are over. This includes rebates for:
If you already have a signed work agreement with a participating contractor, and the work is completed by August 31, 2018, you are still be eligible for these savings. However, if you don’t have a signed agreement, you won’t be able to participate in the GreenON rebates anymore.
Although this affects many homeowners in the GTA, there are still other rebates available to help cover the cost of an upgraded heating or cooling system.
For example, the Enbridge and Union Gas Incentive Programs are available until December 31, 2018. You can save up to $1,000 when upgrading your furnace or boiler to a high-efficiency system and can save up to $500 on a new water heater.
For air conditioners, there is an IESO incentive of up to $850 when upgrading to a SEER 18 system.
Even though GreenON rebates are cancelled, energy incentives from Enbridge, Union Gas and Save on Energy are still available.
Additionally, there are also manufacturer rebates available from Daikin and Lennox that can provide significant savings.
