When the weather is nice and warm outside, the last thing you want to do is step inside a hot, muggy home.

the best air conditionerNothing provides instant relief from the heat quite like air conditioning does. At Appleby Systems, we know all too well that a simple fan just doesn’t cut it during those uncomfortable muggy days! That’s why we feel so passionate about equipping homes with reliable cooling systems.

So, if you’re looking to either replace an older unit or installing a brand new air conditioning system to replace your platoon of fans, we can help.

We know that choosing an air conditioner is a big decision, not to be taken lightly. You want to make sure you choose to install an A/C system that functions properly for years to come and doesn’t drain your bank account. If you select and install the proper system, air conditioning has the power to improve the quality of your life.

Since AC is such a big and important investment, you’ll want to do your homework before purchasing. We are here to help you decide what cooling system is best for you and your home. Give us a call and let us help you get the most bang for your buck.

Quality AC Systems

At Appleby Systems, we carry and install several top-notch A/C units by Carrier Air Conditioners and Coleman Air Conditioners.

How to Decide

When debating what A/C unit is best for your home, there are a few things to keep in mind.

  • The size of your space.
  • The location of your windows.
  • How long you plan to stay in your current home.
  • Whether you want to invest in efficiency.

Types of Air Conditioners

If you’re looking to infuse cooler air in one or two rooms, a window unit or portable air conditioner may be your best bet.

If you’re looking to cool an entire home, central air is the way to go. If you are installing a whole-house air conditioning unit, you will require a professional installation.

When purchasing a new A/C unit, you’ll want to keep an eye out for its Seasonal Energy Efficieny Ratio (SEER) to find out how well it uses electricity. SEER values for new systems range from 11 to 13 or better. Older units normally have a SEER around 8, minus 1 SEER for each five years of service.

A new system will be twice as efficient as an older one.

Special A/C Features

Most quality A/C units will come with a number of very helpful features. We recommend you keep an eye out for the following when purchasing a new air conditioner:

  • Adjustable thermostats for single room units or zone thermostats for central air systems.
  • Multiple cooling speeds or automatic variable fan speeds.
  • Fan override so you can enjoy the benefits of air circulation when you don’t need cool air.
  • Filters that are easy to replace or find particle electrostatic filters to ensure proper maintenance.
  • Minimum 10 year warranty.

If it all seems a little overwhelming, that’s OK because our professional A/C installers will ask you the right questions to ensure that your home is equipped with the best and most efficient unit.

Call us or visit our showroom and find out how you can start enjoying those hot and sticky days with the help of a reliable cooling system.
