At Appleby Systems, we have over 30 years experience in designing installing and maintaining wood fireplaces and propane gas fireplaces and surrounds. Appleby carries a full line of natural gas, propane and wood burning stoves, inserts and fireplaces in all sizes for every circumstance. Some of the new styles, which are updated as often as every six months, have exciting shapes and applications such as 2 and 3 sided see through fireplaces. New designs for 2009 feature blue crystals or river rock burners adding contemporary designs to the traditional log fire lineup. Some of the new trims being offered feature stainless steel, bright blues and vivid reds for a fresh new look.

Gas fireplaces have become very popular because of their high efficiency, beautiful looks and the ability to install them almost anywhere in the home.

Gas or propane fireplace inserts can turn an old drafty brick fireplace into a cozy warm focal point of any house. They are easy to turn on at a moment’s notice and provide zone heating even during a power failure. Add a remote control thermostat and you have a perfect area heater that will help reduce your heating bills by only warming the rooms that you’re in, allowing you to turn down the larger central heating system. All fireplaces are available with variable speed blowers to increase output during cold winter days.

If you don’t have a fireplace and chimney , it’s no problem, as Appleby can install a direct vent fireplace, mantel and your choice of tile marble or granite finishes. Mantels are available in several styles of cast or wood types including pine, oak, and cherry in any finish with other options such as book cases, TV cabinets and upper shelving units. These types of fireplaces can be installed in living rooms, dens, basement rec rooms and even between master bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms for that look of stylish luxury. There are many options such as wall thermostats and remote controls programmable thermostats for that final control touch. We also perform fireplace renovations for a complete new up to date look for that tired old “1970’s” fireplace. New mantels, hearths and surrounds can change the look of a whole home and greatly improve its value and curb appeal.

Many people are returning to wood burning fireplaces as fuel costs rise. Nothing beats the beauty and romance of a wood fire during the Christmas season. Wood burning zero clearance fireplaces can be installed in most places in your home in one or two days. Wood burning inserts can be installed into that old brick fireplace to change it from -30% efficiency to a 77% high efficiency heating unit that can heat your whole home. Our units are EPA certified and would qualify for federal and provincial rebates of $600.00.

All of our installations are performed by our in house factory trained technicians and provincially licensed gas fitters. We are also WETT licensed to inspect, design and install wood heating systems. We stock a full line of trims and fittings as well as a licensed sheet metal shop in order to create custom trims that may be required to ensure every job looks professional.

We can arrange the supply propane services from 100lbs to 2000lbs capacities including cylinders, tanks, regulators and gas lines to all appliances. We also install underground propane and natural gas services to homes, garages and workshops. Appleby can also provide venting as well as outdoor gas, wood and propane fireplaces.

It you are building a new addition or work shop, we carry many types of space heaters including propane and natural gas direct vent wall heaters by Cozy and Empire that draw all of its air from outside the building and do not require a chimney and will provide reliable heat even during a power failure.
